Auditions

All new adult members are auditioned.

All students are re-auditioned each year and, each year, several students
receive scholarships that allow them to study privately throughout the
school year, often with principal players in the orchestra.

Makeup of the Orchestra
- Professional musicians, community music educators, community adults, college,
high school, and even elementary school students from a 100 mile radius
play in the orchestra.

Teaching Principals

Unique to the orchestra is the teaching emphasis placed on the professional
first-chair players. All lead sectionals and make many important decisions
about the assignment of parts within their section.

All teaching principals are auditioned in front of a committee consisting
of the conductor and other teaching principals.
