married while in college); lived for 2 years in a teeny-tiny apartment while
finishing college

Moved to Chicago in 1990 to attend the University of Illinois at Chicago; lived in a northern neighborhood by Lake Michigan that was increasingly
"owned" by gangs, and as a result we become heavily involved in community
policing

Samuel was born in 1995 (he likes baseball,
computer games, playing his trombone, reading, and blowing things up)

Moved to Sioux Center, Iowa in 1997; bought a
house within walking distance of everything but Wal-Mart

David was born in 1999 (he likes reading,
playing his violin, running, and anything with batteries in it)

singing, playing her violin, riding her bike, and reading)
My Hobbies

Perennial flower gardening

hiking, bird-watching, camping, geocaching
