Assignment: Use the following guidelines to write a 1.5-2 page essay (typed, double-spaced, 12-point font, 1" margins)
Study Skills:
Take this Study Skills
Inventory. Then, in your essay, evaluate the results of your study skills inventory, with particular attention to a couple
of areas of strengths and a couple of areas you could improve this semester.
Indicate what barriers may get in the way of you making changes and how you
could overcome them.
Covert curriculum:
Read the assigned article on the covert
curriculum to learn the difference between between the overt (content) and
the covert (skill-based)
aspects of education. Then, in your essay, describe 3-4 covert curricular skills that were part of your
general psychology course.
Attach an APA-style title page to your proofread paper.
Evaluation criteria: Papers are worth 20 points and will be evaluated on the following criteria:
Content (ability to analyze study habits and barriers; apply covert curricular skills)
Writing quality (organization, mechanics, grammar/spelling)
Format (ability to follow APA style and other instructions)
