Purpose
The Pre-Physical Therapy Club
is an effort between the pre-physical therapy students of Dordt College to
assist one another in preparation for graduate school. The club provides
a means by which pre-physical therapy students can get to know each other and
help each other with planning, class scheduling, GRE preparation, and physical
therapy school applications. We bring in practicing physical therapists,
current physical therapy school students, and physical therapy school
recruiters in order to help students understand the profession and gain
knowledge of the physical therapy school admission process. The desire of the
club and its members is to:
Identify freshmen/underclassmen that are interested and help them
get better understanding of the profession and what it takes to become a
physical therapist
Direct students in their selection of classes in consideration of
the prerequisites and recommended electives of the specific physical therapy
institutions
Advise students (upper classmen) on preparation for the GRE and
give suggestions on the timeline of applications with their personal statement,
recommendations, work experience, etc.
If you are interested in
pursuing a career in physical therapy, feel free to come to our meetings or
e-mail the club with your questions.
Our purpose is to be a resource for students to use as they encounter
questions pertaining to the field of physical therapy.
