About Me

I am originally from Pipestone, Minnesota, a small rural town in southwestern Minnesota. I graduated in 2007 from the University of South Dakota, with majors in mathematics and physics, and started graduate school at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in the fall of 2007. I finished my Ph.D. in 2013, and after a year working at a software firm, began my appointment as an assistant professor of mathematics at Dordt College.

In my free time, I enjoy making music with my talented friends, and at my church, brewing beer, reading, and playing/watching tennis. I am a fan of/have been tormented by the Minnesota Vikings for nearly 20 years. My wife, Laura, and I got married on March 14, 2009 (at 1:59 PM). She has been a middle school math teacher since the fall of 2012, and is awesome at it.

Our cats also keep us entertained.
