I was born in Willmar, MN where I lived until the 6th grade when my family
moved to Mason City, IA. While living in Mason City I attended Newman
Catholic High School, where I was liturgically brainwashed (I consider this
a good thing!) by being forced to attend Catholic mass on a regular basis.
Upon graduating from high school I attended Northwestern College in Orange
City, IA where I studied history and secondary education. After
graduation I accepted a teaching position at Faith Christian High School in
the booming metropolis of Bigelow, MN, which I believe had a cow to human
ratio of 3 to 1. While at Faith I taught history and Bible and coached
a variety of sports. After one year at Faith I accepted a position at
Pella Christian High School in Pella, IA, teaching primaraly Bible courses,
with some history and extra coaching duties. I spent nine years at
Pella Christian, during which time I worked toward a Masters of Arts degree
in Theology from Wheaton College Graduate School. In the summer of
2006 my family moved to Sioux Center, IA, where I will begin teaching at
Dordt College as an Instructor of Theology and Youth Ministry.
My Wonderful Family
On August 2, 1997, I was united in marriage to my beautiful
wife Tamara. We have two fun loving and adventurous children: daughter
Naomi who is 4, and son Christian who is 2.
