IEEE Railgun: An Explosive Success
IEEE's railgun is ready for action. Stay tuned for information about an upcoming event where everyone will be given the chance to witness the power of Lorentz force.

On November 16, come an assemble a simple LED flashlight that will be able to run off of “dead” batteries. You’ll solder the components together—so if you haven’t learned how to solder, this is a great opportunity! You’ll get to take the flashlight home, so the cost will be $5 per flashlight to cover the cost of materials. For more information view our poster.
On October 29th Dordt will be hosting a career fair featuring Engineering companies from around the area. This is a perfect chance to make connections with local engineering companies, coneections that could later grow into internships or even a future job. Please dress appropriately and have a prepared resume.
On October 11th at 8 PM, IEEE will be having a Bonfire at the BJ Haan firepit all engineers. Take a break from homework and enjoy some soda, smores, and games.
On October 8, several engineering students will be presenting about their summer internships. This is the perfect chance to learn about what internships are like and companies that will be looking for interns next summer.
From October 4-5 IEEE will be hosting a regional Student Leadership Conference at the University of Minnesota. The conference wil offer leadership training for IEEE branch leaders, compettions with cash prizes, workshops with speakers on research and leadership, and a career fair to help build your connections for later.
The fall Iowa State Engineering Career Fair is coming up on next Tuesday, September 24! For everyone who wants to go, there will be vans ready to leave Dordt at 8:00 a.m. You can plan on spending as many as four hours there and being back to Dordt by 8:00 p.m or before. This is a great opportunity to see all the engineering opportunities out there, as well as to potentially get internship or job prospects. Sign up at the engineering pod bulletin board.
